Service Paint Manager

Job Summary:

The Service Paint Manager oversees all painting operations for service and repair projects on the vessels. This role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously, each with unique requirements and tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marine painting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing project scopes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple service painting projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.​
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the paint team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.​
  • Ensure all painting work meets company and industry quality standards through regular inspections and adherence to best practices.​
  • Work with the Business Development and Project Management team regarding painting services, addressing concerns, and providing updates on project progress.​
  • Oversee the procurement and inventory of painting materials and equipment, ensuring availability for all projects.​
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.​
  • Identify opportunities for improving painting processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in marine painting are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in marine painting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in various marine painting techniques and materials, including surface preparation and application methods.​
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.​
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.​
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.​
    • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.​​

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a marine and industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
  • Involves time spent in both an office setting and the boatyard.
  • May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.

Schedule:
